Weekend Wrap-Up!

We had a great weekend! Saturday morning, Drew and I stayed home from Addy's game. It was at 8am and I didn't want to take Drew out in the cold since he's had a runny nose all week. Once they finished they game, we went into Phoenix to get tested for a friend of a friend who has leukemia. It was a bone marrow test and I'd be lying if I said we all weren't a little nervous. When we googled how they do the test, there were all these stories of having your bones getting drilled into. They testing site was at a grocery store sooo we were a little scared, to say the least! Anyways, the test was super easy - it was 4 different cotton swaps in the mouth. One of the volunteers said that you could be on the bone marrow donation list forever and not ever be contacted as a match. That made me really sad - I hope someone that got tested is a match for Abe. If you could say a little prayer that Abe is matched with a donor, I am sure he would appreciate it. He is only 22, I believe, and has a toddler son. Hopefully, he will be matched QUICKLY with a donor!

Saturday night we decided to carve our pumpkin since Halloween is next weekend. Doesn't it seem like it snuck up on us?!

Addison was super excited to get to carve the pumpkin and Drew honestly had no idea what was going on. I usually draw Jack's face and then Jason does the carving!

She had a itch and was so cute about it! She couldn't itch since she has all icky. Momma will help!

Drew was annoyed having to be in his highchair but I wanted him to be a part of it! He hates to be in his highchair unless he's eating. He expects food as soon as he's in the chair and wants down as soon as he is done. This reading light kept him happy! Addy calls it her "laser".


Daddy had finished after bath time so we tried to get a kiddo picture. This is the best we got!

Sunday morning, we went to church for the first time as members of Palm Valley Church! Jason and I joined the church last weekend and we are both so excited. We love, LOVE PVC. God has blessed us with a church that is just awesome. You can feel the fire of God's love - I am so excited about what's to come. God is amazing!


After church, we came home and ate lunch. We relaxed during the afternoon and watched the Cards lose to the Seahawks.

Drew cuddled with J before his nap and they were too cute that I couldn't pass up taking their picture.

Treats with my treat!

Addy had early release on Wednesday so we decided to get some the goodies to make rice krispie treats. I forgot how easy they are to make! Easy Peasy!

Praise music is my favorite way to worship. I LOVE blaring praise music and singing out loud in my car. I think I sound SO good but others riding in the car may agree otherwise. Ha!

Anyways, I have praise playlist on my iPod and these to songs are on repeat right now. They both speak so loudly to my heart! Listening to King of Glory with my ear phones in my ears give me goosebumps every time! Love, LOVE both of these songs! Harvest-y Hershey Kisses?!

Jason's boss sent home a Halloween basket with him yesterday. It was filled with all kinds of little Halloween treats. He gave all the little pencils and stuff to Addy but saved the chocolate for me. He is such a great guy like that! :]

Anyways, I grabbed a Hershey Kiss as I was walking out the door this am. I saw on the little tag that it said "Caramel" with made me happy because I love those kind! Well, I popped it into my mouth and instantly knew something was wrong. It didn't taste like chocolate and caramel. It was weird. It started to taste fruity so I pulled out the little kiss tag and saw that it was Caramel APPLE! Ha, no wonder it tasted weird. If I had been expecting the apple, I probably would have liked it.



Once I got home from the gym, I further inspected the candy stash and found that not only did we have caramel apple kisses, we also had candy corn kisses and pumpkin spice kisses! Um, YUM!

These little kisses are TASTY and I didn't even know they existed?! How could I have missed them?!

Chicken Pot Piiiiie!

We have a had a great day yesterday! After we took Addy to school, Drew and I went to the gym with our friends, the Luna's. After the gym, we hit up Target to get the ingredients to make pumpkin cookies. (When I say ingredients, I mean the bag of pumpkin cookie mix. Ha!) Unfortunately, they didn't have that mix which bummed me out. I wanted to take something pumpkin-y to small group last night. As Lisha and I were walking around, I asked her if she thought it would taste good if I made regular cream cheese frosting and added pumpkin pie spice. We agreed we thought it would work soooo that's what I did!

I had a sweet helper! Addy Jane was happy to lick the beater for me!



I just used break & bake sugar cookies and frosted them with the pumpkin cc frosting. Holy smokes, that frosting was GOOD! Here is the recipe I used -

• 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 2 cups powered sugar
  
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• Pumpkin Pie Spice to taste
  

I honestly just sprinkled the PP spice a little at a time until I was satisfied with the flavor.

The finished product!I grabbed harvest-y looking sprinkles in the dollar section of Target to top them off! They were a hit at small group last. I will definitely be making this recipe a lot this fall!


I have been craving chicken pot pie lately so I made one that I found on the WW's website. It is super yummy - perfect for a cool fall night! I cooked the chicken in the crock pot first so it was super tender. I can't wait for left overs at lunch! :]

Do you remember the show "Just Shoot Me"? Everytime I hear the phrase "Chicken Pot Pie", this is what plays in my head. Random, right?

I keep my bff's little girl, Addy, a few times a week. She is so cute - I miss Addy Lee being 3! :[ Drew loves when Addy comes over. He says "Addy" so clearly and I honestly think it's because the 2 girls he plays with most are named Addison/Addyson! Isn't that funny?!

Anyways, Addyson is obsessed with Matlida. Like, she is asking to watch it before her dad is even out of the door. It is her favorite! When she came over yesterday, she, of course, asked to watch it again. She laid a pillow down for Drew and he laid down right by her! I couldn't believe it. He doesn't sit still let alone lay down. He wants to down want ever Addy does!

Weekend Wrap-Up!

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend. Tonight is a school night so we are back to the grind! I am sad that Addy has to go back to school but it will be nice to get back to our normal routine! (Like getting back to the gym!)

Friday morning, we went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel with the Brown Family. It was a fun end of break treat! I seriously could eat pecan pancakes with a side of hash brown casserole everyday! SO good! (See what I mean about the gym?! I gotta go!!)

After CB, we ran to Target to grab a few essentials like Starbucks. :]


Jason's division had their awards ceremony at a movie theater in Tempe and I was asked to photograph it. I, of course, said yes! Any chance to spend extra time with my honey and take pictures? Sign me up! After the awards we all passed out, we got to watch The Social Network. It was a really good movie. It was crazy to me that we all sat there and watched a movie about FB which didn't even exist 10 years ago. It was just weird to me. Good movie though!

Saturday morning was Addison's tee ball pictures and game. She played a great game! I will be very grateful when it is continually cool though!

Saturday evening I had engagement pictures at Scottsdale Civic Center. It is a pretty big park so Jason and the kids came with so they could play while I took pictures. I LOVE shooting at SCC. So many cools spots to shoot! Makes me happy.

As we were leaving, I stopped to take pictures of the kids at the LOVE sign and the couple I shot were right behind. They offered to take a family shot and we took them up on it!


After pictures, we went to Scottsdale Fashion Square to eat and walk the mall. We heard that Five Guys burgers were voted the best in the country so we wanted to give them a try. Overall, we thought they were pretty tasty!

After dinner, we walked around. We ended up in Anthropologie which I am in l.o.v.e. with! When I win the lottery, everything I buy will come from there!

While I was getting ready on Saturday, I dropped my blow dryer on my foot. Holy smokes, I saw stars! It hurt so stinkin' bad! Look at the bruise that has formed?! It still hurts. Wahh. :[

Please ignore my rough, gross, in-need-of-a-pedi-bad toes. I just wanted some sympathy. :]

Fall Break!

Addison has been on Fall Break this week and we have really enjoyed it! Jason stayed home Monday & Tuesday so we could spend some time as a fam bam. It was greatly needed!

Monday morning, we made pink pannacakes for the kiddos. I think this is their favorite thing for breakfast because they both gobble them right up!




After breakfast we did some chores around the house. Once those were done, we packed a picnic lunch and headed to the park to eat and play. The weather was beautiful which made it made for nice, fun afternoon!

My babes. I just love them so much. Having Addy home for this week has been awesome. I REALLY miss her when she is gone at kindergarten so I have REALLY loved her being home. She is my little bff and I adore her so much. I adore both of my babies so much. They make me a happy momma.

The Newlywed Game.

Hubs: Glee, Gossip Girl, or any of the "Housewives" shows

Me: SO true! Perfect!

Hubs: Fat free Balsamic Vinegarette

Me: That's so true!

3. What’s one food she doesn’t like?

Hubs: Now it is roast...

Me: Unfortunately, this is true. We got the flu after eating it once and I can't stomach it again. Maybe we'll try it again this fall/winter. The picture looks yummy!

4. You go out to eat and have a drink, what does she order?

Hubs: Depends on where and how sick she wants to be :)

I will go with Coconut Shrimp and a Margarita or Mich Ultra.

Me: My fav thing at Red Lobster is the Coconut Shrimp! I love all food though! The sick comment is not because I drink a lot but because lots of things make me sick. Just wanted to clarify, haha!

5. What shirt size does she have?

Hubs: Depends, but can go between XSM-M, depending on the designer

Me: Tis' true.

6. What shoe size does she have?

Hubs: 9

Me: I wear between a 9 -10. Depends on the shoe!

7. What’s her favorite type of sandwich?

Hubs: Turkey with American cheese

Me: I love me some turkey but if I could choose any cheese, it would be cheddar or colby jack. :]

8. What would she eat everyday if she could?

Hubs: Brownies

Me: So true! Pizza & Panda Express would tie for a close second.

9. What is her favorite cereal?

Hubs: Fiber One

Me: If I could eat anything without getting sick, I'd eat Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Yumm.

10. What would she never wear?

Hubs: Bikini...though she totally can!

Me: HA! Not even close, baby, but I love you for saying that!

11. What is her favorite sports team?

Hubs: Cardinals (baseball and football)

Me: Yes, exactly! I love me some Red Birds.

14. What is something she does that you wish she wouldn’t do?

Hubs: Spend so much time on Twitter...but then again, she keeps me in "the know" with what is going on in today's world :)

Me: Who, me? Neva! I do like to check the ole' Twitter now and again. :]

15. What is her heritage?

Hubs: Scottish

Me: Yep! We even have our own tartan! I bought the Kerr Clan tartan when I was in Scotland my junior year of high school.

16. You bake her a cake, what kind of cake?

Hubs: Depends on the season. Mostly funfetti cake with funfetti sprinkles...sometimes red velvet.

Me: I like how you say season. It's more like what is the craving screaming at me? Ha! The official cake I love is Rainbow Chip. Be still my heart.

17. Did she play sports in high school?

Hubs: Some basketball, some cheer leading, a lot of heartbreaking! :)

Me: Um, all 3 are unfortunately wrong? My parents said "You want a car or you want to play sports?" I picked car and got myself a J-O-B. I did do 2 of the 3 in elementary school. I'll let you figure the 2 out. :]

18. What could she spend hours doing?

Hubs: Blogging...and she does!!

Me: I love all things bloggy, what can I say? Being a SAHM can be lonely sometimes and I like getting to see how others moms do it. :]

19. What is the unique talent that she has?

Hubs: Make you think you won a fight and you soooo did not!

Me: Ha. Can't argue with this! We don't ever fight though, babe?

20. What is her type of coffee?

Hubs: Venti Iced Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte--$4.95 at Starbucks...at home, she drinks Cinnamon Spice from Dunkin Donuts.

Me: Haha, he is right! He has my drink order from Sbucks saved in his phone so he can remember. He's a great guy like that! P.S. I NEVER drank coffee until I had Drew. I used to crinkle my nose up and say "Ewwww!" at the thought of it. I used to tell me sister that it tasted like dirt, haha! Now, I can't go a day without it! I love my coffee!!
