A Royal Affair...

Did you hear there was a wedding today? Oh no? Just an intimate gathering for the royal nuptials across the pond. Intimate in the way of 2 billion people who witnessed the event.

How stunning are they? Amazing.

Yah, that's billion with a B.

Anywho, I did not get up at one am to watch only because I wanted to watch with Addison & she had school today. I wasn't sold on the idea of her skipping school so we used the magical machine known as DVR!

Since we were going to watch after school, I decided to have a Royal Tea!

I had a invitation waiting for Addison at the breakfast table.

(I downloaded an adorable kevin&amanda font that looked royal & scrolly but it didn't transfer to Jason's printer. My own fault - duh- but oh well!)

We had little tea sandwiches, short bread cookies, & tartlets!

Time to watch the wedding! We loved it! Well, Addy & I loved it. Drew was constantly throw balls at our faces so we would play with him.

The wedding was amazing. SO gorgeous. I loved the trees inside the Abbey. They were so pretty! It was such a special event to get to watch, even if it wasn't live.

I am 100% a nicer mommy today since I did not watch it live. Ha!

These hats (fascinators?) were neither amazing or gorgeous. Or fascinating.

What I am lovin' Wednesday!

I am TOTALLY lovin' that these guys were on DWTS on Monday. I don't watch DWTS but I got texts & fb comments telling me they were going to be on.

I LOVE me some Hanson. Have since 1997. I was going to be Mrs. Taylor Hanson. I may have cried when he got married. My brother may have called me a freak for crying.

It's ok though! I REALLY LOVE being Mrs. Jason Lacy. :]

2.

I am totally loving Truvia! I ran into my girlfriend Heather at Target while I was literally reaching for Splenda & she suggested I try Truvia. I am hooked! It is so good! Sprinkled on a cold grapefruit - oh yum! I use it in my coffee as well and I love it!

3.

I am LOVING that some of my girlfriends & I booked our girls trip this week.

Where are we going, you ask?

VEGAS!

Wahoo! Can't wait to lay by the pool & shop at the outlets!

And of course, I am ALWAYS lovin' my favorite people. :]

Mommy!

Addison's first word was "Dada".

Drew's first word was "Dada".

My first thought (both times) was "Um, not fair!"

So mature, right? :]

Drew actually said everyone's name - Dada, Addy, Addison, Sissy, Mimi, Papa.

But did you see my name?

NO!

I would try to coax him all the time with word and he would say them all but MOMMY!

Then, after Easter service on Sunday, as we were walking to our car, he looked at me a said "Mommy".

Melt my heart! Best Easter present ever!!

Sunday night, as I rocked him before bed, I asked him to keep saying it & he did. Every time he said it, tears welled higher & higher in my eyes. I thanked God for giving me this little guy because at one point, I didn't think we were going to get to keep him.

When I was 17 weeks pregnant with him, I woke up bleeding. As we drove to the ER, I was certain it was over.

I was convinced I was losing my baby. The fear & despair I felt in my heart was literally making me sick. It was the scariest day of my life.

Once we were finally able to have an ultrasound, we were able to see our little belly bean and everything with him was perfectly normal.

God has a purpose & plan for my little guy. I am so thankful and blessed that I get to be called his Mommy!

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Easter Weekend!

We had SUCH a great weekend! It was very busy & I am feeling the effect of it today but we loved every second of it!

On Friday, the kiddos and I ran errands. As we were driving around, I asked Addison why Friday was important and she said "Because it's Nice Friday!" How cute is that? She got "Nice" and "Good" mixed up. Sweet girl!

Our first stop was the new donut shop in Buckeye. My friend Adrienne mentioned it at small group last week and said how good the donuts were so we tried it out. Holy smokes, they are REALLY good donuts. Dangerously good donuts!!

Friday night, we got together to celebrate my sweet friend Tonn's bday! It was a fun time to just hang out & relax together. I love girls nights when we don't actually do anything but eat & talk. Those are the best kind!

Saturday, Jason & I served on the media team at church for the first time. We had sat in the room a couple times before but had never actually done anything. We were very nervous, to say the least. Did I mention it was for the EASTER SERVICES?! AH! Nothing like jumping in feet first! I was praying so hard to not mess up and turns out, we did a-ok! It was a lot of fun & we are excited to serve there.

After the back to back services, we came home & did Resurrection Eggs. They were super neat. I am excited for this to be a new tradition in the Lacy house! We also colored eggs after church on Sunday. Lots of fun stuff to do!

Easter morning, the kiddos woke up to find the goodies EB had left them! Addison was asking A LOT of questions about the EB in regards to him actually existing which made me so sad! I am not ready for her to grow up. I think we played it off pretty well for this year but I am not looking forward to those questions next year!

We ate Easter lunch down at my grandparents farm. So much yummy food!

The kiddos after the hunt with all their loot. Why, oh why, must we have SO MUCH candy?! It is all getting thrown out. I think next year we need to fill the eggs with something else, like carrots or broccoli. Too much CANDY.

Addison is off school today & Jason has to only work a half day so actually, it is Great Friday.

All joking aside, I hope you have a great Good Friday & take a moment to reflect on what this day means.

They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. They made a crown of long, sharp thorns and put it on his head, and they placed a stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery, yelling, "Hail! King of the Jews!" And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and beat him on the head with it. When they were finally tired of mocking him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be crucified.



Matthew 27:28-31
After they had nailed him to the cross, the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice. Then they sat around and kept guard as he hung there.A signboard was fastened to the cross above Jesus' head, announcing the charge against him. It read: "This is Jesus, the King of the Jews."Two criminals were crucified with him, their crosses on either side of his. And the people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery."So! You can destroy the Temple and build it again in three days, can you? Well then, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross!"The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders also mocked Jesus. "He saved others," they scoffed, "but he can't save himself! So he is the king of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross, and we will believe in him!

He trusted God -- let God show his approval by delivering him! For he said, 'I am the Son of God.'"

And the criminals who were crucified with him also shouted the same insults at him.At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o'clock.

At about three o'clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

Some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet Elijah. One of them ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, holding it up to him on a stick so he could drink. But the rest said, "Leave him alone. Let's see whether Elijah will come and save him." Then Jesus shouted out again, and he gave up his spirit.

At that moment the curtain in the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead after Jesus' resurrection. They left the cemetery, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people.

The Roman officer and the other soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by the earthquake and all that had happened. They said, "Truly, this was the Son of God!"

Can you even imagine? Reading these scriptures are so convicting. I am horrified at what He went through and He did it for me and He did it for you.
I am so incredibly thankful for what He did.

Christ is risen!

What an amazing weekend we get to celebrate the fact that Jesus died for our sins so that we may have everlasting life. My prayer for this weekend is that we have ample time to celebrate what this weekend truly means.

What I am lovin' Wednesday!

1.

I am loving that my girlfriend Rachel is getting to come home from the hospital today! She had a couple tests run over the last few days to see why she was having stomach pains and she is ok! YAY!

(This is back in February when I introduced Rachel to my favorite cheap, sweet wine, Stella Rosa.)

2.

I love all the April birthdays we have! We celebrated 2 of them (My little bro Chris turned 25 and my niece Christianne turned 14) Monday night with a BBQ at my grandparents house. We had a great time!

3.

The last 3 mornings I have ridden my bike and put the kids in the bike trailer to take Addison to school and I LOVE IT. It is great to get out and get some exercise! I feel like getting my blood pumping and a little sunshine on my shoulders makes a great way to start the day!

Yesterday Drew and I rode down to the canal after we dropped off Addy & threw rocks into it. He LOVED getting to do that! I love finding new, simple things that make him happy.

4.

I am loving that I get to see my Bible study girls tonight! We finished Beth Moore's Esther study last week so tonight we are going to get together to watch the movie! We are all bringing something to eat so I made a chocolate chip pound cake. I didn't let it cool long enough so it broke a little. Bummer. Pretty sure it will still get devoured. :]

It's a zoo out there!

Today was Addison's first field trip as a kindergartner! My sweet, sweet friend Lisha kept Drew so I could go and be a chaperone! Thank you SO MUCH, Lisha Lou!

Disclaimer Numero Uno: I thought I was going to be in charge of a gaggle of smallish children so I didn't pack the big ol' canon along for the ride. I was going to bring my point and shoot kodak but I forgot so all pictures are from my lovely lil' iPhone.

Disclaimer Numero Dos: I am currently taking antibiotics for an sinus infection and they are making my lips severely chapped in one specific part. My whole lip is raw & it hurts. That's why it looks like I have party on my lip. (I stole that from you, Mo.) This happened a month ago when I was on antibiotics as well. Weird, right??

Addy's first bus ride ever! I was excited to learn that there were so many parents going that I would just be in charge of Addy! Just me & my girl. Yay!

It was a great day at the Phx Zoo! I was super excited to get to spend the day with my girl!


After we got home, the kids had ice cream sandwiches outside.

They were both fans.

After they were all sticky, I told Addison they could play in the water. She looked at me like I had 3 heads and said "In our clothes?!" They had a BALL! Their squeals made me one happy momma!
