Tuesday Randoms.

We had a great weekend!

-Friday night, Jason & I tried to catch a late showing Bridesmaids. When we got there, the theater was packed & there were a ton of little kids there. It was 9:50! We didn't want to sit on the front row or hear the chatter of the kids, so we went & saw Something Borrowed. It was cute! Redbox it once it comes out.

-I got crafty on Saturday & made a sign for the wedding I shot that night. It was a great wedding- the couple both sing in the praise team at our church so it was a lot of fun to be part of!

-Sunday morning, Jason & I served at the last two services of the weekend. This was baptism weekend and I love, love, love getting to witness baptisms. Part of serving meant that I was really close to the baptisms as they were actually happening, and it was so incredibly moving to watch the outward proclamations of faith. I loved seeing people of every age "stop getting punk'd & start getting dunked"! 266 people were baptized this weekend at PVC!

This song was part of the service when they played a video of baptisms in years past & I absolutely love this song. So peaceful & so fitting for a baptism service!

-Yesterday, I got fresh color in my hair! How wonderful is it to get your hair did? Very wonderful indeed.

Ok, think I am all caught up now. I have been warding off a little cold that has been trying to attack me all weekend & I woke up feeling a lot better today. Yay! I believe that calls for a Target trip, yes?

Fun-day Friday!

When we were getting our craft on last weekend, I had a little craft for Addison to do as well!

When I saw a mini heart cake pan at Goodwill for 99 cents, I knew it would be perfect for creating new crayons out of old broken ones.

We grouped them by color families - after this picture was taken. We did oranges, reds & yellows for our first one.

Popped them in the oven set at 225 degrees for about 12 minutes. Just keep checking on them - when they are all melted, pull them out!

After we let it cool, Addison had a new crayon to use! We have made 2 more and will definitely be doing some more this summer!

I also made a headband that I saw on Pinterest.

Only kidding...I wish I had the guts to wear it like this!

I followed the instructions found here. Although, I don't have a sewing machine (yet - I totally want one now!) so I hot glued everything together & it worked famously!

I used the left over fabric from the frames I have made over the last week. I love how they turned out. I want to make more now! I made one for Addison & she loves it!

Addison's Kindergarten Graduation!

Can someone please kindly show me where the pause button is so I can stop time? I can't believe Addison's kinder year is wrapping up. I don't like that she is growing up - time is just going to fast for this momma!

Tuesday morning, she had her graduation. She was just a little doll accepting her diploma! She was JUST graduating preschool - how did time go so fast?!

This was taken last year at her pre-K graduation. They look so little to me!

Addison had such a great year in kindergarten. She learned so much! I am so excited to have her home for the summer. She is my little bud & I have MISSED having her around!

Pinterest & DIY Frame!

I have been bitten by the Pinterest bug. Like, bad. I signed up a while ago but never really did anything with it. Then I started looking up dream kitchens & I was hooked. I love "pinning" things! (Every time I pin something, in my head I say "pinned ya again" a la The Lion King. Anyone else? No? Ok then.)

Moving along... I saw a pin of a DIY magnetic frame & decided I wanted to make one. My niece is graduating 8th grade this week so I figured I could make one for her.

All my goodies!

1. Frame from Goodwill - 3.99

2. Fabric from Joann's - 2.10

3. Buttons - 2.50

4. Magnets - 1.30

5. Galvanized metal from Lowe's - 6.59 (for entire sheet - was more than I needed though!)

6. Spray Paint - 3.99

Whole total - $21.00ish

(Not bad since I will be able to use the paint for more crafts as well as the metal!)

Isn't she a beauty? Well no, not yet - but she will be.

My sweet husband cutting the metal for me. We had the idea of tracing the insert after I took the picture. Made it a lot easier! This took a little while & I am so thankful my hubs helped. He is the best!

While he was doing that, I sprayed the frame. I loved that the back piece (what is that called? proper up thingy?) was still on - gives my niece the option of propping it up if she wants.

Once the metal was cut, I hot glued the fabric to it. Really easy! I also hot glued the button & magnets together. I spray painted them turquoise to match the frame & pop against the fabric.

Once the frame was dry, I put it all back together without the glass.

Voila!

Super easy DIY project. I also grabbed some goodies from Goodwill to make a cake stand which I will post later. Love Goodwill!

Addison's "Birthday" Celebration!

Addison's class had been doing a countdown for the last 26 days of school using the ABC's and yesterday was S! S stood for "Summer Birthdays" so anyone with a summer birthday could bring in treats to share. I was super excited for this because honestly, I was a little bummed that Addison wouldn't ever be able to celebrate her birthday at school since it is in June. (Drew's is in July so we didn't do our planning very well in regards to school time birthdays, did we?)

Anyways, the "Birthday Girl" requested pink cupcakes with pink frosting so that's what I made!

All her classmates signing to her. They have to wait until they are done singing & then Addison gets the first bite!

And I was SO excited to be there! This week has been hard & long with Drew being sick. I am so thankful that my sweet hubby came home to stay with him so I could have some one on one time with my girl.

What I am lovin' Wednesday!

1.

Drew's pink eye is getting better (yay!) but he is also running a fever (boo!). The doc said they aren't related to each other and I am thinking he may have what Addy had last week. I hate when they are sick - makes me worry so much! Praying all sickness kindly leaves our casa SOON!

I really, really love the blog Hollywood Housewife. She is a small town girl from OK who moved to LA. Her hubby is the creator of some shows for MTV so her blog is part mommy/ wife stuff & part La La Land stories. Very fun to read!

Oh, how I love Glee. Last night's episode was so much fun! I just love the music so much - can't help but smile while watching them bust a move. I loved all the songs last night but this one especially!

4.

But what I am loving most of all, is that next Friday is this sweetie's last day of school! Wahoo! SO looking forward to having her home during the summer!!

Mother's Day 2011

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was lovely - it definitely went by way too fast!

My sweet husband went out of his way to let me know how much he appreciates me. I am so thankful to have him as my hubby. I am blessed!

I woke up to fun treats Sunday morning. My sweet family made me breakfast in bed & gave me lots of homemade cards. Addison may have used the entire package of construction paper - ha!

I love this page she made about me at school. According to her, I am 15 inches tall & weigh 70 pounds. Can you even image what a person with those dimensions would look like?

We went to church Saturday night so Jason let me sleep in on Sunday. That in itself is the best gift ever! After we cleaned up the house & did some laundry, we went to lunch at Red Lobster. Coconut shrimp, mmm!

Later in the evening, we went down to my grandparents farm for a cookout. It was a great time! Perfect weather & yummy food.

And I gotta say, the crazy company was my favorite part!

We ended the weekend with chocolate chip pound cake & Celeb Apprentice. Perfect ending to a perfect weekend!

Now, we are off to the pedi. Drew woke up with a red eye yesterday & it has gotten a lot worse.

Poor little guy doesn't feel good! Look how sad he looked this morning when we took Addy to school. :[

Campfire Brownies!

This brownies are so scrumptious! My sister gave me the recipe a few years ago & they are a sure fire hit every time I make them. Tonight is our snack night at small group so we are taking these!

You will need-

-brownie mix (I used the family size one from Pillsbury since its for small group)

-Golden Grahams cereal (I used the Kroger brand - just as good & half the price!)

-chocolate chips

-mini marshmallows

-oil

-eggs

Prepare the brownie mix according to the box directions.

I add chocolate chips to the brownie mix to make them extra fudgy. Yum!

Bake brownies according to box.

Mix the cereal, marshmallows, and chocolate chips together. I didn't measure them out, I just kinda poured them together.

Once the brownies are done, spoon the mixture on top of the brownies. Set your oven to broil & put the pan back inside.

*IMPORTANT*

You will need to keep a close eye on them because the marshmallows can burn fast! Once they have reached the goldenness of your liking, pull 'em out!

(This batch could have been a smidge darker but I didn't want to risk them being charcoal 'mallows.)
